Our proposed Stroke Brain Trauma Helpline will be open 24/7/365 as soon as we have all the logistics in place, namely telephone line where you can call us free, and at least three well informed people, to work shifts answering calls for help and information.
We would be ecstatic if a few medical professionals would volunteer to help working the support telephone lines, as that would cut back on cost where there is very limited funding at this time.
We are currently experiencing a good volume of enquiries via email. We suggest that try calling ONLY after we have announced the initiation of the support line service. Our regular telephone line is NOT the support line number.
Please note: To check the quality and consistency of our service, and for learning and development purposes, from time-to-time staff and volunteers will listen in to calls and read written enquiries. We will also sometimes record calls for this purpose. All staff and volunteers will be bound by our strict confidentiality policy.
If you suspect someone is having a stroke always use the F-A-S-T Test and have them dial 1-1-9 Immediately or go to the hospital immediately.
